Review by Booklist Review

Incredible animal relationships and their benefits are explored in this title on the wonders of symbiosis. A coyote and a badger working in tandem to find a meal; a tarantula and frog that live together, even though the tarantula might be forgetful and attempt to eat the frog; a hummingbird pollinating a flower; and many more relationships are featured. Readers will learn about positive benefits brought about by mutualistic relationships, as well as parasitic relationships, where only one animal benefits. Each double-page spread is dedicated to a pairing, with realistic artwork depicting aspects of the relationship and providing beautiful close-ups of animals, habitats, and more. Each spread includes several informative paragraphs, and animal lovers will be sure to find amazing new facts on every page. Excellently illustrated and providing a treasure trove of interesting information about symbiotic relationships, this is an excellent addition to children's nonfiction collections.
