Review by Booklist Review

The landmark first edition gets the update it deserves. The best features remain intact, from the explanatory passages and flavor map to the solid writing and photos that practically call you into the countryside. But Broom has responded to the spirit's still-aflame popularity with new and updated maps and entries proving whisky production truly is a global affair. (Australian single-malt, anyone?) U.S. craft distilleries, exploding in popularity, receive much of the attention, with 12 new pages and a map almost unrecognizable from just five years ago. Old-school Scotch drinkers shouldn't feel left out with a new section on blends, and lots of new tasting notes, Broom has something for them, too.--Graff, Keir Copyright 2015 Booklist
