Merchant Ivory The documentary
DVD - 2024
Merchant Ivory Productions was one of the longest partnerships in cinema history, making 43 films between 1961 and 2007. While the company's name centered the partnership between Ismail Merchant and James Ivory, novelist/screenwriter Ruth Prawer Jhabvala and composer Richard Robbins were also at the core of the tight-knit "family" of collaborators that made up Merchant Ivory Productions. This documentary features interviews with forty-one such collaborators recounting their experiences with the company, including six Academy Award winners. The film is anchored by an interview with James Ivory himself.
