Today’s panel explores the significance of a writer’s identity in their work, as well as their audience’s interpretation of it. While writers coming from a particular cultural background may fully understand their writing, there may be gaps in their audience’s understanding. Can diverse works be fully accessible to all? The IWP Friday Panel Discussion series provides an opportunity for the residents of Iowa City to meet and converse with writers from around the world who are the Fall 2024 Writers in Residence at the University of Iowa International Writing Program. The series is sponsored by The UI International Writing Program and The Iowa City Public Library.
