Rough riders of the ragged rimrock

James J. Griffin, 1949-

Large print - 2024

"When Texas Ranger Will Kirkpatrick and his young partner, Jonas Peterson, were informed they were to man a new Ranger post in Sweetwater, they knew they'd have plenty of trouble on their hands. But even they didn't know how much they were in for. Their new territory encompassed much of the Texas Panhandle, including most of the Texas Caprock, the two hundred-plus-mile-long north-south escarpment separating the Llano Estacado from the lower lands to the east and south. The Caprock was a jumble of canyons, arroyos, and draws, interspersed with high cliffs and razor-sharp ridges. It was the perfect place for outlaws to operate with impunity. Will and Jonas's first pursuit finds them chasing a gang of murderous bank robbers.... Unbeknownst to them, at the same time another, even more vicious gang of killers is preying on the stage coaches, which are the only means of public transportation and mail delivery in most of the rugged, sparsely populated region. Will and Jonas are willing to tackle any outlaws they come across, but can only two Rangers flush out the myriad outlaws plaguing the region? They will, or die trying."--
