Raine may have escaped her execution by the Draoihn, but she and her companions, Sanvaunt and Esher, are now trapped in the Fault, a magical wasteland beyond the real world that is breaking down before them. Raine wants to find her mysterious Queen of Feathers to get back home, except that could be even worse. Ovitus LacNaithe has control of the Draoihn, and his plan to control the Crown of Harranir is spurred on by an ominous force that is the true power. Raine's magic is strong, and her bond with her friends stronger, but to be enough to save two worlds, it may take everything they have if they are to see the next sunrise. VERDICT The final volume of "The Redwinter Chronicles," after Traitor of Redwinter, is an epic adventure across war-ravaged lands, where friendship is tested and twisted, and the fate of all lies in the hands of a few. Readers of George R.R. Martin might enjoy this series.--Kristi Chadwick
