Iris Peters is a former school principal in her 60s. When she charged into her neighbourhood's all-candidates mayoral debate to speak her mind, something happened that she didn't expect. After being taunted by Deputy Mayor Bill Clarke, Iris decides by the end of the evening to run for mayor. Naturally, the political novice ends up winning the election and heads to City Hall, where she treats its denizens as if they're badly behaved schoolchildren.
