More seductive than sex…more addictive than drugs…more precious than gold…and one man can get it for you--for a price. Sidney Lumet directed this powerhouse drama starring Richard Gere and Denzel Washington in which a high-priced political consultant is forced to confront the person he has become and the corrupt people he has helped win elections. Able to make or break careers, Pete St. John, a gilt-edged "image" advisor to powerful and often crooked politicians, helps a conservative industrialist named Jerome Cade (J.T. Walsh) get a Senate seat vacated by Sam Hastings (E.G. Marshall), a liberal politician who fits in with the views that Pete once upheld.
