Review by Booklist Review

In 2017, Reposeur couldn't find candles that were natural, vegan, and environmentally friendly, so she founded La Bougie Herbivore and began making her own. Now, she instructs readers in making their own, starting this guide with a concise and interesting history of candle making, from the first use of candles to the significance of different colors. Readers will learn about fire safety, the ingredients and tools they need, and which ingredients may appear to be vegan but are not. Step-by-step instructions for projects include photographs to make it easy for readers to follow. The recipes themselves are straightforward, with a note on the candle's best quality (soothing, mood-boosting), how long it takes to make, and a warning note if it shouldn't be used around young children or pregnant women. Amateur and expert crafters alike can enjoy Reposeur's creative candle pursuits.
