Review by Booklist Review

George, author of Paper Party (2018) and Easy Cricut Crafts (2023), turns readers onto a newer paper-based craft: sublimation transfer printing. In crafting terms, sublimation is a way to transfer images using high heat that mixes with chemicals in ink and paper to bond with their ultimate recipient: T-shirts, tumblers, ceramic coasters, and more. Readers should be forewarned that this craft requires substantial time, money, and space. A higher-end printer dedicated to sublimation is required, as are software and other specialty equipment. Supplies can also be pricey, as they include custom paper and ink. Then the craft process itself involves careful work, making a "sandwich" of the items one wishes to combine and following instructions to the nth degree. Designs, which are available for download, are somewhat elementary. The 18 patterns are filled with step-by-step instructions, complete with color photographs from start to finish and a narrative that brooks no mistakes. Readers who are familiar with the realities of the craft and undeterred will be bolstered by George's enthusiasm.
