In this war drama based on true events, Polish nurse Irena Gut Opdyke (Sophie Nélisse) risks her life to shelter and protect Jewish people during the Holocaust. Employed as a housekeeper by Nazi officer Eduard Rügemer (Dougray Scott), Irena hides Jews in the cellar of his home. Directed by Louise Archambault and adapted from Dan Gordon’s Broadway play, the film portrays Irena’s courageous efforts to save lives amidst the horrors of war.
