Book - 2023

"Broken down by her emotionally neglectful ex, all Charlie Underwood wants is someone to tell her she's good enough. Then she stumbles into a new job with a boss who brings her to her knees--literally. As an owner of the Salacious Players' Club, Emerson Grant knows exactly what he wants and isn't shy about his particular tastes. But when he mistakes Charlie for a candidate to be his new submissive instead of his son's ex-girlfriend, he immediately tries to correct the situation. He offers Charlie a job as his secretary and nothing more... Yet now that Charlie has seen a glimpse of what can happen when she's honest about what she wants, she makes it clear that all she wants is Emerson. He might be twice her age ...and her ex-boyfriend's dad, but he's also the only man who can give her everything she desires."--Page 4 of cover.

Review by Publisher's Weekly Review

Cate (Burn for Me) opens her Salacious Players Club series with this kinky and sizzling erotic romance. After Charlotte Underwood, 21, breaks up with her boyfriend, Beau, she needs her half of their apartment security deposit back--and isn't happy when the check is mistakenly mailed to Beau's father, 40-year-old Emerson Grant. To collect the money, she heads to what turns out to be Emerson's sex club, where he mistakes her for a submissive--sparking an unfamiliar desire in Charlotte. After clearing up their misunderstanding, Emerson impulsively offers Charlotte a job as his secretary. Working closely together soon evolves into a torrid dom/sub relationship. Though both try to stay casual, their affair quickly morphs into the most fulfilling romantic and sexual connection either has ever felt. When Beau finds out about the relationship, however, Emerson is forced to choose between his estranged son and Charlotte. The well-shaded protagonists burn up the pages, and a solid supporting cast, especially Charlotte's trans little sister, Sophie, add depth. Cate's latest is sure to enthrall those who like their romance spicy. (Feb.)
