Review by Booklist Review

In this unique, rollicking novel, an unlikely band of friends join up to finish their bucket lists before the end of the world. Johan Lowenhult's cruel brother, Fredrick, has taken advantage of Johan's limited mental skills for years. Now Fredrick has sold their valuable home to move to Italy, and Johan is left with only an RV. He sets out, unsure of anything except that he must find people to cook extravagant meals for. His first encounter is with Petra Rockland, the prophet of the title, who predicts that the world will end in eleven days. Petra and Johan agree to take revenge on everyone who has harmed them, starting with Petra's childhood crush. After Johan beats the man's car with a baseball bat, the two of them are on the run. Along with Agnes, a senior citizen running an Instagram con, their illegal acts snowball until it seems everyone in the world is after them. Jonasson's (The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared, 2012) caper, which includes international crime and major political figures, will delight fans of the absurd.
