In the future, as the Earth teeters on the edge of becoming unsuitable to human life due to global warfare, dwindling resources, and environmental collapse, a company called Edencorp begins transporting those lucky enough to be chosen via lottery to Eden, a newly discovered planet they tout as an untouched paradise. Desperate to provide a better future for their daughter, Gabe and Morgan Oximenko hatch a plan to sneak their family aboard a starship carrying 50 million passengers to the far-flung planet. When a technical malfunction causes the stowaways to emerge from cryogenic hibernation shortly after liftoff, they make a gruesome discovery--rather than delivering their human passengers to Eden, the starship's crew is dumping their corpses into a mass grave on the dark side of the moon. Outraged, the Oximenkos become determined to save as many of their fellow passengers as they can, pitting them against a ruthless corporation out to stop them from revealing the truth. VERDICT Author Sebela (Crowded Vol. 1) and illustrator Laming (Star Wars: Doctor Aphra Omnibus) present a riveting science fiction thriller examining how hope can inspire heroism, or become an excuse for monstrousness, in the face of desperation.
