Multiple chapters with accessible, straightforward text explain the need for more-sustainable living, what makes a house a green home, different types of green homes, and what they may look like in the future. High-quality photos allow readers to see STEM at work through a wide variety of green construction and sustainable practices around the world, from homes made of rammed earth in Yemen to self-sustainable microhomes (Ecocapsules) designed in Slovakia. Sidebars add more fascinating insights, such as spotlighting biodegradable bricks made of fungi.
