Review by Library Journal Review

A would-be one-night stand between a photographer and a reality-TV home-renovation architect sparks something more. After a disaster on a business trip, Flo is back in her small Massachusetts hometown at the local dive bar, hoping for a chance to dissociate. A sexy stranger provides her with an evening of escape, passion, and anonymity. In town with his daughter for his latest restoration gig, Adam isn't looking for attachment. A problematic relationship with his ex-wife and a toxic childhood have taught him to keep his distance. Hired to shoot photographs of the local restoration project, Flo discovers that last night's handsome stranger is the architect. The two reluctantly become entangled in each other's lives and complicated family histories, healing generational trauma along the way. As Adam's project wraps up, the two will have to decide if they're meant to last more than one night. Simone's new "Rose Bend" novel (after Mr. Right Next Door) focuses on found family, healing wounds, and unexpected love. Characters from previous books are mentioned, but it can be read as a standalone. VERDICT Fiercely sexy and warmhearted, perfect for readers of Brenda Jackson's "Catalina Cove" series.--Shanel Slater
