Laurel Richards is a mother of two girls and dealing with the fallout of her ex-husband abandoning them and clearing out their bank accounts. Even though she is back on her feet financially, her daughters are struggling. Her oldest, Jagger, hates men, and Laurel realizes they have no positive male influences in their lives. Paris, Laurel's best friend who is healing from her past anger issues, can't seem to forgive herself, especially when her ex-husband and his son show up in their small town of Los Lobos. Meanwhile, across the country in Maine, Cassie seems to live for everyone else and has nothing to show for it. After a push from her siblings, she leaves the only life she's ever known to go see her inheritance in Los Lobos. What Cassie believes will be a short visit turns into her building a life all her own. These three women and their friendship feel genuine, and readers will be able to relate. Fans of Jill Shalvis and Robyn Carr won't be able to put Mallery's latest (after The Happiness Plan, 2023) down. HIGH-DEMAND BACKSTORY: Readers who flock to Mallery's heartfelt stories will be clamoring for her feel-good latest.
