PreS-Gr 1--A sweet story with kid appeal. Sabrina Sue is a little chicken with big dreams. In this installment, Sabrina Sue is compelled to travel to outer space. All of the books in the series follow the same comfortable format, starting with Sabrina Sue on the farm wondering about an adventure elsewhere. The other farm animals are skeptical, but Sabrina Sue, along with her trusty frog sidekick, goes for it anyway. Eventually, she misses life on the farm and returns home, vowing to return to the place she just visited. This new entry features the Moon, a choice that will certainly capture the fancy of young readers who will love to vicariously travel along with Sabrina Sue. The vocabulary is controlled, and the format is perfect for emerging readers, offering more of a plot than the typical first step early reader. Simple, bright illustrations contain word bubbles and have a graphic novel feel that will attract kids who love comics. VERDICT Armchair travelers and young dreamers will enjoy boosting reading skills as they join Sabrina Sue's latest adventure.--Kate Nafz
