Review by Booklist Review

If readers can't fully sign on to the idea of joyful cleaning, they will still find it hard to resist the authors' ebullience about all things dirt free. After tackling--with joy!--that pile of dirty clothes in Laundry Love (2021), Richardson and Miller take a whole-house approach, peppering the book with cleaning tasks that can be done in 10 minutes, playlists to listen to while you work, and a very pragmatic tool list, with essentials like vinegar, cheap vodka for smell reduction, and rags upon rags. Going beyond the scrubbing specifics, the authors provide tips on making a living room comfortable, swapping in a new and inexpensive backsplash (removable wallpaper, for one), and toilet cleaning, with five clever tricks. There are no photos, but the prose is upbeat and (almost) inspirational, and the plentitude of simple and useful hints--like breathing life into a humdrum sofa with a variety of pillows--will help readers get into the "time to clean" message. Plus, as the authors reassure, "only God sees under a sofa."
