Americathon 1998

Streaming video - 1979

In the far-distant future of 1997, the United States stands on the brink of bankruptcy: The White House has been leased to the Teamsters; San Diego was sold to Mexico. To save the country from defaulting and being repossessed by a unified Middle East, the President decides to hold a national fund-raising Telethon-Americathon. Now, in a last, desperate measure to save the once-proud nation, everything is for sale in this wild spoof that is hilariously prescient in its vision of the future.
