Review by Booklist Review

It's no ordinary day for Polly Diamond when she awakens in this third series installment. First of all, her head's at the foot of the bed and her feet are on her pillow. Secondly, her little sister, who always wakes up first, is still asleep. Everything is topsy-turvy! Even so, it can't dim Polly's excitement over it being the day her teacher is bringing them an official class pet. But what kind will it be? Polly is hoping for a pangolin. The topsy-turvy vibes follow Polly to school, though, where she arrives to find a substitute teacher (Mrs. Strange) in their classroom and a cute but boring pet hamster. Polly decides to ask her magic notebook for the perfect pet (a tiny, flying horse), but as more requests from classmates pour in, pet pandemonium ensues. Polly Diamond's adventures are always fun, and her love of reading, writing, and learning carries through the short, sweetly illustrated chapters. Her big-hearted antics will amuse young readers, as will her her perfect solution to the pet problem.
