PreS-K--Perron covers the ephemera of life for a parent and child who both have tan skin and black hair, that days pass, that seagulls steal a bit of food, that precious treasures break, that everything is soon over "except my love for you." This refrain runs under events at the beach, home, bathtime, and bedtime, until the sleepy child gives in to rest, enveloped in the certainty of love. VERDICT Scenes that have the fuzzy edges of pastel drawings bring the cozy world of mother and child to life, and will give readers reason to want to look over the pages again and again.
