Ginny Splinter is used to having all of the answers. She has hosted the radio show Just Ask Ginny for over a decade, and her listeners have come to rely on her wisdom and advice for solving their problems. However, one day Ginny is blindsided by the problem of her marriage when her husband of twenty-five years, Adrian, asks for a divorce. Facing an issue she doesn't have an answer for, Ginny decides to go ahead and go to Italy, where she had booked a nonrefundable getaway for her and Adrian. She invites along four listeners who are also heartsick. The group ends up at the Hotel Splendido, where the proprietor, Nico, has been dealing with his own problems. Over the course of three weeks, Ginny learns that heartbreak comes in many shapes, and that no one else is responsible for her happiness except for her. The Little Italian Hotel is a charming story about healing, new friendships, and second chances at life. Patrick's (The Messy Lives of Book People, 2022) devoted fans will enjoy.
