Housewives illicitly role-play at being chat show hosts and Olympic champions; romantic novels are being defaced in the local library; a geography teacher harps back to his glory days playing tambourine with The Spinners and a pyromaniac dwarf psychic reads palms at a bus stop. It's business as usual in Horton-Le-Hole, the irregularly beating heart of the north east where Dresden Shepherdesses rule and pit bull terriers outnumber the residents.
