Baby-Toddler--Día de los Muertos is here in this colorful counting board book for the youngest readers. Each spread includes a special scene depicting the festivities: an ofrenda with special photographs, a market selling marigolds and sugar skulls, and characters enjoying music and dancing. Starting with 10, readers count down each of the items identified on the different spreads. Vibrant colors illuminate each scene, drawing attention to the characters and unique items included throughout. A special finger puppet can be used in each scene to provide a face to the main character, who can be spotted participating in every spread. Finally, as readers reach the final spread, they see the main protagonist at their ofrenda, waiting for their loved one. VERDICT This fun and interactive counting board book introduces Día de los Muertos to the youngest readers and is sure to become a favorite during the special holiday.--Selenia Paz
