Astrid the Unicorn and Stella the Flying Squirrel blast off with Bobo the Robot (aka, their "bobot) in their rainbow rocket ship, complete with cotton candy machine and trampoline for ultimate stratospheric travel. But oh no! They receive a distress signal from Caturn, the legendary planet of Space Cats, that Kittywonkus, the Notorious C.A.T., has put everyone in a catnap while he hoards their kibble! After defeating him, they head to Bloop, a beach planet and the coolest place in the galax-sea, where they help a splash-averse whale named Dry Guy get Acme Waterproof Wonder Goggles. The bright, bold digital artwork is full of delightfully squishy, colorful creatures that are so kawaii you want to cuddle them. The panels are piled with jokes and regularly pause for beautiful full-page spreads that overflow with joyous imagery and minimal text. And the plot is deliberately negligible, leaving full attention to hiss-terical cat puns you'll never fur-get and fin-tastic water puns galore, which is very on-brand for the Moyle sisters.

Review by Publisher's Weekly Review

In three chaotic chapters, the ever-effervescent Hello!Lucky team (You Are Fantastic!) launches a graphic novel series starring two high-flying BFFs: Astrid, a unicorn with an Elvis-worthy pink mane, and Stella, a tangerine-hued flying squirrel. Chapter 1 finds the duo's space travel plans derailed when their rocket explodes on the launch pad, and Astrid admits setting the turbo pump to "deep fry" rather than "blast off" ("I was feeling a little peckish"). Declaring in rat-a-tat-tat progression "We can do hard things," "Mistakes are proof you're trying," and "Progress, not perfection!" they turn to their Jeeves-like robot butler, Bobo, to build a new rocket, pausing for snacks and a dance break. Hurtling into Chapter 2 and a rescue mission to Caturn ("Cutest planet in the galaxy"), they liberate the adorable kitty population from a Blofeld wannabe named Kittywonkus. And in the concluding chapter's visit to beachy Bloop, they give a socially awkward whale a confidence boost by proffering swim goggles and advice. With irrepressible protagonists, non-stop wordplay, and trippy, candy-colored visuals, this book leans hard into cartoon-level cuteness and cheer. Ages 6--9. (Sept.)

In this version of space, everyone can hear you laugh. Astrid the unicorn and Stella the flying squirrel blast off for adventure across three stories with the help of their trusty "bobot" friend, Bobo. Bobo provides access to unique technology, such as a fart detector and a Cat Cam that monitors the planet Caturn. Astrid and Stella encounter problems in need of their can-do attitudes, such as a busted rocket and a whale on a pool-party planet that splashes animals too hard and on purpose. The pair also dissuades the sole villain in the book, Kittywonkus, aka the Notorious C.A.T., from planetary domination by threatening him with mushy food, a dirty litter box, and other things sure to strike terror into the hearts of felines. The cartoon artwork is loud and cheerful, especially following any page that is relatively text-heavy, and images of food, parties, and a multitude of cats pop up often. Astrid and Stella make an adorable pair; scenes of them on the pool-party planet with their beach umbrella and floaties are especially sweet. Frequent enthusiastic outbursts and jokes cater to short attention spans. Like being enveloped in a nonstop hug. (Graphic fiction. 6-9) Copyright (c) Kirkus Reviews, used with permission.
