Sign it and say it! Excellent for every American Sign Language (ASL) student as well as teachers, parents and professionals learning ASL to be able to communicate clearly, naturally and start signing with the deaf community and people with hearing loss. Students will learn basic to advanced communication skills, vocabulary, finger spelling, the alphabet the fundamentals of communicating through sign in a variety of everyday situations, proper ASL etiquette and how to properly communicate with people of the Deaf Community. Storytelling, builds narrative skills appropriate for all new learners. Everyday communication is the centerpiece of each lesson and each topic revolves around sharing information about our environment and day to day life.... Grammar is introduced in context, with an emphasis on developing question and answer skills. Students will learn conversational strategies to help maintain a conversation along with interaction activities allowing students to rehearse what they’ve learned in each lesson. This series is an easy-to-learn, step-by-step approach complete with drills and practice exercises to increase signing ability and understanding. Featuring ASL teacher and interpreter Clarissa Story and deaf student Rachel signing in her own words teaching conversation skills on the subjects taught, after each lesson. In this program students will learn how to sign about deaf culture, history and CODA.
