Toddler-PreS--Famous crocodile detective Drilo shares his emocionómetro, or emotion-meter, to help introduce young readers to feelings such as happiness, anger, fear, and sadness. Each feeling is depicted as a unique character and introduces itself, sharing things that it is known for or enjoys doing. Anger is constantly grumbling, fear often trembles, and happiness loves to jump and dance. Vivid illustrations feature facial expressions perfectly representing each emotion. The Spanish text is humorous and easy to read, making this a fun board book to reread. The emocionómetro may help young children identify which emotion they are feeling, and an arrow connected to the emocionómetro will help them decide how "big" that emotion may be. This is a sweet volume for the youngest of readers that will provide opportunities for kids' first discussions about emotions. VERDICT Recommended for Spanish board book collections, especially where SEL titles for little ones are needed.--Selenia Paz
