Baby-Toddler--This egg-shaped, lift-the-flap search for the Easter bunny is all it's cracked up to be. Simple yet effective in concept, each page gives a series of verbal and visual clues as to a hidden critter's identity. Throughout the book, rhyming clues are couched between the beginning question, "What's inside the Easter egg?" and the ending question, "Could it be the Easter bunny?" For its simplicity, this title incorporates several elements that are foundational to early literacy: the call-and-response repetition, animal sounds, and rhyming words. The jubilant illustrations feature kawaii-style animals and clue-laden patterns that will delight young readers. Easter titles can tend towards a more pastel palette, but this one smartly employs heavily saturated colors. VERDICT A read-on-repeat for every-bunny under the age of three, this is a recommended purchase for board book holiday collections everywhere.--Sarah Simpson
