Review by Booklist Review

Fletcher is known for her modern needlework designs featuring clean lines, bright colors, and subject matter inspired by nature. Here she aims to encourage beginners and more knowledgeable crafters to experience the activity of embroidery as a way to practice mindfulness, as something to keep one's hands busy, and as a way to celebrate the imperfection and uniqueness each artist creates. The 50 designs included here feature a variety of botanical, animal, and seasonal motifs, including several monograms and a few borders. Each pattern includes a diagram of the design, as well as a color photograph of the completed example, along with a list of the required/recommended colors, and instructions covering the broad strokes of how to complete it. Full size templates for the designs and two monogram alphabets are provided, which can be used to trace for those who wish to recreate the patterns precisely. A stitch guide includes directions accompanied by color photographs that illustrate how to achieve the techniques used. This will be a desirable guide to embroidery for many crafters.
