The Boys in Red Hats

Streaming video - 2021

THE BOYS IN RED HATS documents the controversial face-to-face encounter between students of an all-boys elite high school and a Native American elder on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial during the annual pro-life rally on January 18, 2019. It was the smirk-heard-‘round the world as 17-year-old Nick Sandmann, surrounded by cheering classmates, became one of the biggest names trending globally. Accused by the media for being racist and privileged, Nick and his classmates became internationally villainized in a 24-hour news cycle and declared guilty of provoking a Native American man trying to keep peace with the beat of his drum during the ‘March for Life’ rally in D.C. Overnight, clips of the video went viral creating a tidal wave of ...outrage with feelings of hate and disgust falling upon Sandmann who quickly became the mocking face of white supremacy. Days later, as the world became more polarized, a full video was released, vindicating the boys and showing a more complete picture of what actually happened that day.
