Review by School Library Journal Review

K-Gr 4--Docherty's debut picture book is about how a family of four deals with a variety of difficult emotions that occur throughout their day. Alma is scared of the storm. Her younger brother is mad because his blocks fell over. Their dad is sad because his mother passed away, and their mom is tired because of all the work she has to do. Each family member is able to help one another by using a technique that begins with a deep breath. They are then told to imagine something beautiful they think is happening in the world. The artwork depicts a loving family. Outdoor scenery includes views of a pretty yard, an ocean, and an open plain where giraffes wander under a pink sky. VERDICT Whether children are reading this book or listening to it, they are bound to envision their own positive thoughts for the next time they are processing difficult emotions. A creative addition for use in story times or in the classroom, across a wide range of ages.--Tanya Boudreau, Cold Lake P. L., Alta.
