Adventurous in her work as one of Manhattan's hottest interior decorators, Kit Finn couldn't be tamer in her personal life. So, while on vacation in the Florida Keys, Kit resolves to do something risky for once. Flirting with Matt Healy is one thing. Going back to his room after their date is another. Instead, Matt offers to cook her dinner when they're both back in the city. But when Kit arrives at his luxury apartment ready for the date of a lifetime, who is the man who opens the door? Kit's usually so good at reading people. How could she have been taken in by the deceptions of a con man? Piece by piece, Kit realizes that this treachery goes a lot deeper, and gets a lot deadlier.

Review by Library Journal Review

White's (Eyes on You) latest stand-alone novel explores how a single, devil-may-care decision can lead to chaos and confusion. Kit Finn, an up-and-coming New York City decorator, enjoys a reckless night of pleasure with a stranger while she's on vacation in the Florida Keys. But when she comes home and visits the man at the address he gave her, she finds that the apartment belongs to someone else. When her apartment is then burglarized, Kit begins to worry. A look-alike client is then killed, panic sets in, and Kit realizes she needs to find the man who turned her life upside down. Narrator Erin Bennett does an excellent job with many different characters and keeps the pacing of the story consistently tight and exciting. VERDICT A great listen for those who enjoy thrillers set in the Big Apple.-J. Sara Paulk, Houston Cty. P.L., Perry, GA © Copyright 2015.
