Count Cesare Cardinali sees a man collapse at a casino, with a STILETTO in his back. Three Mafia men are charged but, to the fury of the District Attorney and his assistant, Baker, the men are released on bail. Cardinali is in the pay of Matteo, a Mafia chief who once saved his life. Feeling that his debt has now been repaid, Cardinali wants to quit - but Baker suspects him of the murder and a Mafia hit man has been ordered to kill him. With the help of his girl friend, Cardinali meets Matteo in Puerto Rico, closely followed by the hit man and Baker...
