Review by Horn Book Review

Berry the Fruit Fairy "has super-sweet news!" She's been invited to participate in a Project Runwaylike competition where the designers "have an hour to make [an] outfit--and the fabric is a surprise!" This installment offers more of the same sugar-coated confection, which should appeal to fans of the saccharine chapter-book series. Black-and-white illustrations in each chapter add some respite from the lackluster narrative. (c) Copyright 2015. The Horn Book, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc. Sweet Secrets Supersweet News Berry the Fruit Fairy headed to Red Licorice Lake at top speed. She wasn't racing to Sun Dip because she was late. Usually she did arrive at the red sugar sand beach at Red Licorice Lake just as the sun was starting to slide behind the Frosted Mountains. Sun Dip was the time that her Candy Fairy friends shared stories and sweets. Her friends knew Berry was always the last to arrive. But today was different. Berry fluttered her wings faster. Today Berry was rushing to get there early because she was about to burst with her good news! There was no one she wanted to share her news with more than her best friends. "Wow! Berry, you are so early!" Raina the Gummy Fairy exclaimed when she saw Berry. "Hot caramel, what's wrong?" Melli gasped. She was spreading her blanket out on the sand and stood up with a concerned look. The dark-haired Caramel Fairy looked worried. "Berry, you are never early. Is everything all right?"
