Review by Library Journal Review

Miltenberger's debut is written in accessible yet thorough language, incorporating concepts sometimes left out of introductory works, and it has a beautiful, decorative layout. It includes a short quiz, plus additional callouts and questions to help readers find their personality type, although it stresses that finding one's type takes time. It has an index and a brief list of bibliographical references that includes books not only about the enneagram but also about Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and works by authors like Carl Jung, David Burns, and Martin Seligman. Miltenberger has co-created a popular Instagram account dedicated to wellness using the enneagram and published a journal for using the enneagram for self-care. VERDICT This book is an attractive introduction to a personality test that references mainstream popular therapeutic concepts and emphasizes self-care. Readers attracted to personality tests for personal enrichment will be interested.--Nancy H. Fontaine, Norwich P.L., VT
