Review by School Library Journal Review

Gr 4--8--This series provides a tour of some of the country's best-known locations. Each title provides a general overview of the locale, including the early history of the area and the Native American tribes who first inhabited the land. The bulk of the books focus on the reason the attraction is iconic (the movie business in Hollywood, the culture and food of New Orleans, etc.). Back matter includes lists of important dates in history, a glossary, and discussion questions. The books are easy to read and feature colorful full-page photos but lack focus overall. VERDICT "Iconic America" fails to stand out in a crowded field.
