Review by Booklist Review

Inquisitve minds will love exploring the different maker activities in this second Curious Jane book. Projects are organized into five different categories, such as Kitchen Chemistry, which focuses on using chemicals and items such as butter and eggs, and Mini to the Max, which is about all things miniature. Projects are assigned a difficulty level (easy, medium, and hard) and are accompanied by numbered, step-by-step instructions and large, clear photographs. Each project also comes with a maker checklist, which lists all the necessary items, as well as tips on where to find them. Advice and factual tidbits provide insight into the science behind the creations. Old favorites, such as solar-oven s'mores and egg geodes, can be found alongside moon sand, light-up cards, soapsicles, black lights, and miniature clothes hangers. Information about Curious Jane and its founders accompanies the text, along with a helpful list of places where materials used in the book can be found. A fun and creative addition to maker collections, sure to have young creators wondering which project to get started on first.--Selenia Paz Copyright 2019 Booklist
