The admirable Discrimination in Society series (6 titles) expands awareness and educates readers on many ways in which people are placed at a disadvantage in today's world. This volume thoughtfully examines how discrimination against the disabled whether physically or intellectually is committed, its impact, and what can be done to curtail it. Its five chapters integrate background on the Americans with Disabilities Act; real-life examples of discrimination, from inaccessibility of public spaces to unemployment to challenges in education; daily life with a disability; and advocacy efforts.
