Review by Booklist Review

Cleaning is a task that virtually everyone is responsible for in some manner, and author Rapinchuk, who many readers will know from her Clean Mama social-media brand and line of cleaning and organization products, provides her own system of strategies for making cleaning healthier and more efficient. Rooted in concern for her family's health and well-being, her recipes and methods are designed to set one's mind at ease. A list of the chemicals contained in common household cleaners outlines the demonstrated and potential health risks of those components, and terms commonly used on labels are defined (sources are cited in an appendix of endnotes). Readers are encouraged to avoid most commercially produced products in favor of more than 50 DIY recipes that contain fewer and gentler ingredients. Arranged by room, instructions for making the cleaning process more efficient, effective, healthier, and sustainable are broken down into bulleted lists, quick tips, and checklists. These recipes and tips can be used in whole or piecemeal, making this book useful for both enthusiasts and casual readers.--Anne Heidemann Copyright 2019 Booklist
