Review by School Library Journal Review

Gr 1-4-Future engineers will find plenty of inspiration in these energy-themed activity books. Each entry briefly introduces and defines a topic (along with its history), then presents about five extension experiments, which range from model-making to long-term projects and cover topics like composting, fracking, and solar energy. "Digging Deeper" sidebars provide explanations. The attractive layout is bright and colorful; photographs depict happy children. Easy-to-follow instructions include warning symbols that advise readers when to seek an adult's help. A short conclusion, a quiz, and a glossary round out each volume. In lieu of a bibliography, each text directs readers to the library or the Internet for further exploration. Many experiments will translate well into STEAM maker programs. -VERDICT Even well-stocked libraries should -consider adding these-especially Biofuel Energy Projects. © Copyright 2018.
