Review by Booklist Review

A workaholic himself, Robinson (Chained to the Desk, 1998) offers a motivational book focused on meditations to break the cycle of over-working. He understands how such technology as laptops and smartphones has enabled and encouraged people to value work over any other activity, to the point of negatively affecting family life and health. Workaholism can also mean that the quality of work and work relationships suffer, especially when one is constantly thinking about working, is anxious or depressed, or is pushing coworkers and staff to work as relentlessly as he or she does. Robinson outlines monthly topics to help break the cycle of workaholism. Filled with advice, quotes, and meditations, #Chill aims to break addiction to work and bring a peaceful, balanced work-and-home life. In addition, 366 (accounting for a leap year) daily motivational quotes and affirmations may help to calm and relax. This is a book one can read in its entirety or just sections at a time; either way, #Chill offers a guide to a restart for the new year.--Melissa Stock Copyright 2018 Booklist
