Review by Horn Book Review

A doggerel explanation of lore regarding the "Billy Goat Curse" afflicting Chicago's National League baseball team. Local saloon-owner Billy's pet goat, Murphy, was refused entrance to a 1945 World Series game, furthering what became a 108-year drought between World Series triumphs. Only those devoted to the Cubbies will suffer through the tortured scansion of Herzog's verses, and the accompanying watercolor caricatures are mildly amusing at best. (c) Copyright 2018.
