Review by Library Journal Review

The recipe for Season 5 (broadcast as Season 3 in the UK) of this BAFTA Award-winning culinary contest import that quickly became a sensation on both sides of the pond remains the same. Take 12 amateur bakers, put them together in a bunting-decked tent in the British country-side, and let them compete in a series of challenges involving cakes, cookies (or biscuits as they say in Great Britain), pastries, and bread. Have the results judged by Paul Hollywood (the cranky one) and Mary Berry (the kind one), with some sweet and saucy commentary by hosts Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins thrown into the mix. VERDICT Whether for longtime fans or newcomers, Season 5 is guaranteed to satisfy any cravings viewers may have for a cooking show that not only nourishes the mind with fascinating information about the art and craft of baking but also feeds the soul.-John Charles, formerly with Scottsdale P.L., AZ © Copyright 2018.
