"This year of 2017-2018, our club is proud to celebrate its 100th year of existence. We thank the three women, Esther Allen Gaw, Rachel Knight, and Helen B. Loos, for taking the initiative to help form the social organization that they named The University Club. The following pages were taken from scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, and minutes all stored at the State Historical Society in Iowa City, We hope the committee has done justice to honor and pay tribute to all teh women who came before us, and as a rememberence to our past for all who came after us."--page 1.
