Review by Library Journal Review

Ejecting from his burning plane without a parachute, a British World War II pilot (David Niven) miraculously survives and meets and falls in love with the American radio operator (Kim Hunter) with whom he's shared his dying wish. Trouble is it wasn't cosmically ordained. And a heavenly trial ensues over whether to rectify the gaffe. A poignant rom-com fantasy by producer Emeric Pressburger and director Michael Powell (Black Narcissus; The Red Shoes), this glorious wartime classic at last gets the high-definition restoration and supplements-laden treatment it so richly merits.
