Review by Publisher's Weekly Review

Flower-shaped, die-cut holes guide readers through this board book, as animal children give flowers to their mothers. Litton's rhymes are utilitarian but consistently evoke gratitude and love on the part of the young animals: "Mommy Cat, I love it that/ we play with yarn together./ I picked these flowers just for you-/ I hope they last forever!" Galloway's sunny, crisp-edged digital illustrations feature picnicking bears, sheep in the middle of their bedtime-book routine, and bees enjoying a field's worth of flowers. Given all the floral gift-giving in the book, those planning to purchase it as a Mother's Day present would be wise to stop by the florist, too. Simultaneously available: I Love My Daddy. Ages 2-5. Baby-Toddler-Each of these board books features young animals interacting with their mothers and fathers and thanking them for being so great. The mommies are given flowers by their children ("I picked these flowers just for you-I hope they last forever!"), while the daddies are given various things shaped like a star. Flower and star die-cuts appear throughout each book. Sentimental verses make these selections a little overly sweet, but they will be checked out often at most libraries. © Copyright 2017.
