Review by Booklist Review

Omega-3s. Turmeric. Antioxidants. Words like these insinuate themselves into everyday language without much thought about what they mean, or their impacts. Swedish bloggers Aurell and Clase make their life-changing eating habits a source of education, fun, and sustenance for readers. It all started with their blog, escalated when they met stomach-bacteria research scientist Professor Stig Bengmark, and culminated in their six-prescription methodology and these recipe how-tos. What's particularly motivational are their personal stories of trial and error, whether it has to do with giving up breakfast or cutting way, way down on sugar intake. Longer narratives on technique, like cooking food for a longer time at a lower temperature to prevent sugar formation, are helpful too. Recipes are posted in every chapter, reflecting many good for you dishes: kale chips, cold potato salad, carrot-top pesto pasta. Lots of ahas will greet the text, from explanations of each individual's 100 billion good gut bacteria to symptoms of chronic inflammation.--Jacobs, Barbara Copyright 2018 Booklist
