Review by Publisher's Weekly Review

In this delightful mix of memoir and Wiccan ritual advice guide, Crosson (Summer Sage) relates anecdotes of her children's spiritual awakening and celebrations of the pagan lifestyle. Crosson, a resident of the Pacific Northwest and member of the Blue Moon Coven, explores how families can live holistically and spiritually year-round by following the Goddess's teachings. With an emphasis on respecting nature, Crosson describes ways to be thankful for what the earth provides, grow a garden with healing herbs, and go on backyard vision quests. Constructive advice includes comforting children who are dealing with bullies and those ignorant about pagan beliefs, performing mindfulness exercises to focus awareness and affirmation, creating sacred space and home altars, making crafts, encouraging children to feel confident, and rekindling the importance of hearth and home (recipes are included). Crosson also explains the Celtic origins and spiritual meanings of holidays such as Halloween and May Day along with useful ways to incorporate celebrations of both ancient and modern holidays for maximum family fun. Activities for involving children in rituals for the eight seasonal Sabbats and esbat moon circles are provided. This homey guide is sure to be dog-eared after a full year's worth of referencing.
