Gr 3 Up-This craft book offers detailed instructions on how to make 20 different projects out of paper. The projects range from pop-up cards, plate masks, and pinwheels to more complex crafts such as rolled paper bowls, a papier-mâché piggy bank, beads, and a hedgehog made from a paperback book. Younger children may require adult assistance with many of the activities, especially the ones involving a craft knife or hot glue. The book was published in England and features Briticisms, with measurements in both inches and centimeters. The only issue U.S. readers may encounter is that many of the crafts specify European paper sizes such as A3 and A4, which can be harder to find in the United States. Wilson devotes four pages to each craft, beginning with a supply checklist and a full-page color photo of the finished results, followed by step-by-step directions, with photos accompanying each phase. Back matter includes a collection of templates for a few of the crafts, a list of websites in the United States and the UK, and a helpful description and photograph of each supply item. VERDICT This attractive guide to a wide range of paper craft ideas would make a nice addition to craft collections for kids and tweens.-Ashley Larsen, Pacifica Libraries, CA © Copyright 2017.
